This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Adds a NHTSA vPIC VIN decoder shortcode and an API Connectors admin screen.

Description

KO - NHTSA VIN Decoder provides a public shortcode for decoding VINs through the NHTSA vPIC API.

Primary shortcode:

[ko_nhtsa_vin_decoder]

The shortcode is designed to be pasted into a Divi Code Module or any WordPress content area that supports shortcodes. The front-end form submits through WordPress AJAX, so the browser does not need to call the NHTSA API directly.

The admin screen is available under:

API Connectors > NHTSA VIN

Admin features:

  • Configure the NHTSA vPIC vehicles API base URL.
  • Choose DecodeVinValuesExtended or DecodeVinValues.
  • Set request timeout and transient cache TTL.
  • Allow or block partial VIN decoding.
  • Edit the public intro text.
  • Choose summary result fields.
  • Run admin test decodes.
  • View recent admin test history.

NHTSA vPIC does not require credentials. If desired, production settings can be locked in wp-config.php:

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/ or upload the ZIP through Plugins > Add New.
  2. Activate KO - NHTSA VIN Decoder.
  3. Open API Connectors > NHTSA VIN.
  4. Paste [ko_nhtsa_vin_decoder] into a Divi Code Module.
