Sticky Header Two, Three & Four for Total
Adds sticky header support to header styles 2, 3 and 4 in the Total WordPress theme, which normally only offer a sticky menu.
Download
Download total-sticky-header-two-three-four.zip
[!IMPORTANT] Use the link above, not the green Code → Download ZIP button. GitHub names that archive after the repository and the branch, so you'd end up with a plugin folder called
total-sticky-header-two-three-four-main. WordPress tracks active plugins by folder name, so installing the correctly named version later would leave you with two copies in your plugins list.
Requirements
- WordPress
- The Total theme, using header style 2, 3 or 4
Installation
- Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the zip, click Install Now, then Activate.
Or unzip and upload the total-sticky-header-two-three-four folder to wp-content/plugins/.
Updating
This plugin does not check for or install updates automatically. WordPress won't tell you when a new version is out, so you'll need to update it yourself: download the latest zip, then either upload it again through Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin (WordPress will ask if you want to replace the existing version) or overwrite the folder over FTP.
To hear about new versions, click Watch → Custom → Releases at the top of this repository.
Usage
There are no settings in the plugin itself. Activate it, then configure the sticky header the usual way in the Customizer — the sticky header options become available for your header style instead of being hidden.
What it does
Header styles 2, 3 and 4 place the menu below the logo, so Total offers a sticky menu for them rather than a sticky header. This plugin switches that around:
- Removes the
fixed-navclass from the menu wrapper, disabling the sticky menu - Removes the sticky menu section from the Customizer
- Removes the conditions that hide the sticky header settings on these header styles
- Registers styles 2, 3 and 4 as having sticky header support
Notes
The sticky menu is disabled site-wide, not only on header styles 2, 3 and 4. If you switch to a header style that used the sticky menu, deactivate this plugin to get it back.
Because the plugin works entirely through theme filters, it stops having any effect the moment it's deactivated. Nothing is written to the database.
Support
Questions about this plugin go through Total support.
