Install

No release zip yet. The repository archive installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow:

wp plugin install https://github.com/wordpress-phoenix/wordpress-cloudinary-config-free-cdn-images/archive/refs/heads/master.zip

Declares an update source (https://github.com/WordPress-Phoenix/sm-cloudinary-config-free-cdn-images), so updates arrive through the plugin's own updater.

Cloudinary (config-free) CDN Images WordPress Plugin WordPress plugin that simplifies the use of cloudinary on your site as an image CDN using as needed image fetching. Why Use Cloudinary with this Plugin? When used on WinterIsComing.net, without making any other changes, it reduced pageload speed of the GoT homepage by 1 full second. The only difference is the use of Cloudinary as a proxy for images. Cloudinary doesn't just serve as a CDN though, they optimize images and serve difference sizes "on the fly" in the best format possible for your browser to minimize bandwidth and maximize performance. So you can start for free, but if you think your site is going to go over the limits of the free account, do note the very high entry cost of ~$50 a month just to get anything bigger. Is there a risk? With this plugin, no. To move away from using Cloudinary, just disable the plugin and your site goes back to serving the images from your hosting company, unoptimized.
