Stripe Terminal for WooCommerce

Instructions

1. Check releases for the latest version of the plugin.

2. Download the stripe-terminal-for-woocommerce.zip file.

3. Install & activate the plugin via WP Admin > Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.

   

4. Go to WP Admin > WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe Terminal and enter your Stripe secret key. Note: you do not need to enable the Stripe Terminal here, the Terminal will be enabled for the POS in the next step.

   

5. Go to WP Admin > WooCommerce POS > Settings > Checkout > enable the Stripe Terminal gateway.

   

Web checkout (classic + Blocks)

To accept Terminal payments from the online store checkout (in addition to POS):

1. Enable Enable Stripe Terminal for web checkout under WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe Terminal.
2. Stripe Terminal will appear on both classic shortcode checkout and the WooCommerce Blocks Checkout (Blocks requires WordPress 6.6+; older installs keep classic/POS support and omit Terminal from Blocks checkout only).
3. After the customer places the order, they are redirected to the order-pay page to connect a reader and complete the card-present payment.

Abandoning the reader step leaves a pending order, which is standard deferred-gateway behaviour.

1. Selecting the Stripe Terminal gateway will allow you to connect a reader, or use a simulator if you don't have hardware.

   

2. Using the simulator you can test various payment methods.
