An autonomous proxy node that locally caches NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) imagery, validates MIME types, and delivers content in full GDPR compliance — without your users' IP addresses ever reaching US servers.

Every WordPress plugin that embeds NASA images directly sends your visitors' IP addresses and browser data to US servers on every page load — a silent GDPR violation that most implementations simply ignore.

Ghost-Node Architecture (Evasion)

The scraper uses browser emulation and cognitive referer spoofing, disguising itself as a legitimate human recipient to ensure a constant data rate without interruptions from IDS systems.

Kinetic cURL Failsafe (Resilience)

If WordPress-internal filters block the wp_remote_get API, SolarScaler initiates a kinetic cURL bypass — availability is guaranteed regardless of how restrictive the host environment is.

Polite Throttling (Ethics)

500ms throttling between downloads simulates human browsing behavior and reduces load on NASA infrastructure. Open source means responsibility.

MIME-Scrubbing Security Layer

Every inbound data frame is validated against its MIME type before local storage. No manipulated content ever reaches your server.

🚀 Installation

Requirements

• WordPress 6.0+
• PHP 8.0+
• cURL enabled
• Write permissions on wp-content/uploads/

Setup

1. Download the plugin and extract it to /wp-content/plugins/vgt-solarscaler/
2. Activate via Plugins → Installed Plugins in your WordPress Dashboard
3. Configure desired SDO channels under Settings → SolarScaler
4. Trigger the first sync manually or wait for the cron job
