Create click-triggered video popups from WordPress media uploads and external video URLs.

Description

Universal Media Popup lets site owners create reusable video popups from the WordPress admin. Each popup has a Trigger HTML ID and a video URL. Add that ID to any button, link, div, span, image wrapper, or text wrapper on the front end, and the video opens in a responsive popup.

Supported sources include WordPress-hosted video files, direct MP4/WebM/OGV/MOV URLs, and WordPress oEmbed-supported providers such as YouTube and Vimeo.

Installation

  1. Upload the universal-media-popup folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress.
  3. Go to Video Popups > Add New.
  4. Add a popup label, Trigger HTML ID, and video URL.
  5. Publish the popup and add the same ID to the clickable element on your page.
