This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/tikhomirov/wp-defaultauthor-plugin/archive/refs/heads/master.zip

No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

WP default author plugin Wordpress default author plugin How to use: 0. Install and activate the plugin 1. Create default author and set role "editor" or highest ('editor', 'author', 'administrator'). 2. Choose default author for current user (or somebody user) 3. Create a new post, and save. Post author will be changes to default. 4. Profit!
