A lightweight contextual navigation plugin for WordPress travel and destination websites.

Destination Section Nav automatically connects parent pages with related child pages such as attractions, hotels, tours, restaurants, travel tips, and activities — helping users navigate large destination sections naturally and efficiently.

Designed specifically for content-heavy travel websites, the plugin improves:

  • User experience
  • Internal linking
  • SEO architecture
  • Content discovery
  • Editorial workflow

while remaining lightweight, simple, and easy to manage.

Why This Plugin Exists

Large travel websites often contain deeply related destination content.

For example:

Melbourne ├── Attractions ├── Hotels ├── Tours ├── Restaurants ├── Museums └── Travel Tips

Once users land on a child page like Melbourne Attractions, they should still be able to easily access related pages such as Hotels, Tours, or Restaurants without navigating back through menus or the homepage.

This plugin solves that problem by creating contextual destination navigation automatically from the WordPress page hierarchy.

Features

Automatic Child Page Navigation

Automatically generates navigation menus from child pages of a destination root page.

No manual menu management required.

Manual Navigation Control

Editors can:

  • Enable or disable pages
  • Reorder navigation items
  • Customize navigation structure

for complete flexibility.

Custom Navigation Labels

Override long SEO-focused page titles with shorter navigation labels.

Example:

Original Page Title

Best Luxury Hotels In Melbourne Australia

Navigation Label

Luxury Hotels

Drag & Drop Sorting

Simple drag-and-drop ordering directly inside the WordPress admin.

Pagination Support

Designed for scalability.

Supports large destination structures with paginated admin management for improved usability.

Elementor Compatible

Use the plugin anywhere with the shortcode:

[destination_nav]

Compatible with:

  • Elementor
  • Gutenberg
  • Theme templates
  • Sidebar areas

How It Works

The plugin automatically:

  1. Detects the current page
  2. Finds the top-level destination ancestor
  3. Loads navigation configuration from the root page
  4. Displays contextual navigation throughout the entire destination section

Example:

Melbourne → Attractions

The plugin detects:

Root = Melbourne

and loads Melbourne navigation everywhere inside that section.
