This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

A WordPress plugin that adds a customizable Call to Action (CTA) button to The Events Calendar event pages.

Description

TEC Call to Action Button extends The Events Calendar plugin by adding a fully customizable CTA button to individual event pages. The button can be configured per event with custom text, URL, colors, padding, and border radius settings.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.0 or higher
  • The Events Calendar plugin (by Modern Tribe)

Installation

  1. Download or clone this repository
  2. Upload the tec-cta-button folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  3. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
  4. Ensure The Events Calendar plugin is installed and activated

Usage

  1. Navigate to an Event: Go to Events → All Events in your WordPress admin
  2. Edit an Event: Click on any event to edit it
  3. Configure CTA Button: Scroll down to find the "Event Call to Action" metabox
  4. Set Button Details:
    • Enter the button text
    • Enter the button URL
    • Customize colors using the color pickers
    • Adjust padding values (in pixels)
    • Adjust border radius values (in pixels) for each corner
  5. Save the Event: Click "Update" or "Publish" to save your changes
  6. View on Front-End: Visit the event page on your site to see the CTA button displayed at the bottom of the event content

Default Values

  • Background Color: #f9c609 (yellow)
  • Text Color: #000000 (black)
  • Hover Background: #e0b700 (darker yellow)
  • Hover Text: #000000 (black)

Technical Details

  • The plugin adds a metabox to the tribe_events post type
  • CTA button is displayed using WordPress's the_content filter
  • All styles are applied with !important to ensure they override theme styles
  • Button opens in a new tab with target="_blank" and rel="noopener noreferrer" for security
