Install
Upload it under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, then activate.
Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

Display Bible passages in WordPress using a Gutenberg block or shortcodes in other page builders. Version 1.0.0 is the initial baseline release.
Requirements
- WordPress 7.0 or later
- PHP 8.3 or later
- Outbound HTTPS access to the SermonIndex Bible API
The Gutenberg block uses Block API v3. No API key, npm installation, or build step is required.
Installation
Download the installable ZIP from the GitHub release, upload it in Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin, and activate it. Open Settings > Uplink Scripture Block to choose the translation for every passage on your site.
For installation from source, place this repository in wp-content/plugins/uplink-scripture-block/ and activate Uplink Scripture Block.

Set the first and last verse to the same number for a single verse. show_reference="false" hides the passage reference. Translation is always controlled by the saved site-wide setting.
Compatibility
The existing block identifier sermonindex/scripture-passage, shortcode scripture_passage, saved translation option, and CSS classes are retained so existing passages continue to work after the plugin rename. Replace the earlier SermonIndex Scripture Block plugin rather than activating both copies together.
Data and licensing
The plugin contacts https://api.sermonindex.net/v2/bible/ for Bible catalogs and passages. Requests contain the requested translation and passage identifiers. No post text or visitor information is sent. See readme.txt for caching and full usage details.
Plugin code is licensed under GPL-2.0-or-later. Bible translations have their own terms, linked in settings when supplied by the API. SermonIndex API reference.
