Install

Download Page_to_Post_Converter_v1.3.2.zip From the v1.3.2 release on GitHub, Apr 22, 2025

Upload it under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, then activate.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin zip file via WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New > Upload
  2. Activate the plugin
  3. Go to Tools > Page to Post Converter

Settings

Go to Settings > Page to Post Converter to configure:

  • Preserve Page Builder Data
  • Delete Original Page after conversion
  • Category/Tag conversion options

Findings

  • high Page→post conversion on admin_init lacks capability check

    missing_capability

    admin_init handlers for convert_one and p2p_bulk_convert only verify nonces (p2p_convert_one / p2p_bulk_convert) then call p2p_convert_page_to_post, which rewrites page post_type to post (and may copy Elementor meta). Any logged-in user can mint those nonces and trigger conversion via a wp-admin request that still fires admin_init, despite the Tools UI being registered with manage_options.

    Recommendation

    Require current_user_can('manage_options') (and ideally edit_post for each ID) immediately after nonce checks before converting.

WP Registry hashes the installable build and reports on that exact bytes-for-bytes copy. Embargoed findings are withheld until they are disclosed, so a clean verdict means nothing public is outstanding. WP Manifest does not audit code itself.
