Fast Grid for Elementor is a blazing-fast, high-performance Elementor extension that replaces standard native loop grids with an instantaneous, pre-indexed grid capable of handling tens of thousands of posts and media assets locally.

It features advanced infinite scrolling, native Elementor Loop Templates support, and a dedicated Faceted Search engine.

🚀 Key Features

  • Custom Blazing-Fast Indexer: A custom flat table wp_fg_index maps taxonomies and relationships so traversing 100,000+ posts takes milliseconds. Bypasses the heavy WordPress $wpdb->term_relationships execution.
  • Elementor Native Compatibility: Visual design is 100% handled via Elementor Loop Templates. The cache layer primes Elementor's CSS/HTML to avoid native Loop Render Protection bugs, assembling cards like a cached puzzle puzzle instantly.
  • Media & Custom Post Type Support: Fully supports querying Media (attachment) and regular custom post types interchangeably.
  • HappyFiles Direct Integration: Reads HappyFiles virtual folders recursively! An industry-first specific mapping.
  • Advanced Faceted Search Widget: A dedicated external widget (Fast Grid Advanced Filters) enables connected multi-filtering logic (search box, taxonomy dropdowns, and button groups). It natively communicates via Custom Events to cross-filter counts and disable empty tags intelligently!

📥 Installation

  1. Clone or download this repository.
  2. Place the folder fast-grid-for-elementor into your WordPress plugins directory: /wp-content/plugins/.
  3. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
  4. Navigate to Settings > Fast Grid and hit "Reindex All" to build the initial hyper-cache database.

💡 How to Use

Displaying the Grid

  1. Edit any page with Elementor.
  2. Drag and drop the Fast Grid widget (found under the Fast Grid category) onto your canvas.
  3. In the widget settings, select your Target Post Type (e.g., Media or Post).
  4. Select an Elementor Loop Item template. (Note: only loop item templates will be visible in the dropdown).
  5. Set Columns, Gap, and optionally select basic internal categories.

Connecting the Advanced Faceted Filter

To build complex combinations of filters (like FacetWP or JetSmartFilters), use our decoupled Controller Widget:

  1. In your Fast Grid widget, go to the Advanced tab, and set a Custom CSS ID (Example: mi-galeria).
  2. Drag and drop the Fast Grid Advanced Filters widget anywhere on the page.
  3. In its first Control (Target CSS ID), type mi-galeria so that both widgets connect.
  4. Add items using the Repeater to create Text Searches and Taxonomy Buttons or Selects!
  5. Use the Style tab to fully customize padding, states (Normal/Hover/Active), and Typography.

🔧 Developer Notes & Cache Bypassing

If you are developing or managing dynamic content manually, you can re-build the grid index programmatically using the internal indexing classes.

  • Fast Grid automatically hooks into save_post and taxonomy assignments to update its indices gracefully in the background.
  • Transients per-card are invalidated immediately across the ecosystem upon version bumps via FastGrid\Includes\Cache::bump_version().
