How to Use the Plugin

1. Installation

1. Download and extract the plugin file.
2. Upload the plugin folder to your WordPress installation's wp-content/plugins/ directory.
3. Go to WordPress Admin → Plugins and activate the Custom Order Status Lite plugin.

2. Setting Up the Custom Order Status

1. Go to WooCommerce → Custom Status in the WordPress admin menu.
2. Enter your Custom Status Name (e.g., "Awaiting Review" or "Order in Progress").
3. Enable or disable the email notification for the custom status.
4. Save the changes.

3. Customizing the Email Notification

1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Emails.
2. You will see a new email called "Custom Status Email".
3. Click Manage next to the "Custom Status Email" and enable or disable it as needed.
4. Edit the subject, heading, and content of the email just like any other WooCommerce email.
5. If you need further customization, you can override the template in your theme by copying the template file from the plugin’s templates/emails/ folder to your theme’s woocommerce/emails/ directory.

4. Triggering the Email

The custom email will be sent automatically when an order status is changed to your custom status.

You can manually update the order status from the WooCommerce orders page or use an order status update action to trigger the email.

Important Notes

• The Custom Order Status will appear in your order status dropdown once the plugin is activated. You can select it when updating orders in the WooCommerce admin.
• To edit the email content, go to WooCommerce → Settings → Emails. The "Custom Status Email" can be customized just like other WooCommerce emails.
