Overview

Linguator OpenAI Compatibility extends Linguator Multilingual AI Translation with OpenAI-compatible translation providers without editing the main plugin source code.

This keeps the main Linguator plugin update-safe while adding support for OpenAI-style chat completion APIs.

This addon requires the main Linguator Multilingual AI Translation plugin to be installed and active.

Custom providers should support OpenAI-style /v1/chat/completions requests.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.2 or newer
  • PHP 7.2 or newer
  • Linguator Multilingual AI Translation installed and active
  • A valid API key for the selected provider
  • A compatible text/chat model

Installation

  1. Install and activate Linguator Multilingual AI Translation.
  2. Upload this addon folder to wp-content/plugins/.
  3. Activate Linguator OpenAI Compatibility in WordPress Admin > Plugins.
  4. Go to Linguator > Settings > Translation.
  5. Enable OpenAI-compatible API.
  6. Select a provider.
  7. Enter the API key.
  8. Select or manually enter a model.
  9. Save the settings.

Debug Log

Debug logs are written to:

wp-content/plugins/linguator-openai-compability/logs/openai-debug.log

The log includes:

  • Request start time
  • Provider and model
  • API endpoint
  • Full prompt metadata
  • System prompt
  • User prompt
  • Original strings
  • Raw API response
  • Extracted AI response
  • Parsed translations
  • Original-to-translated mapping
