ByteSIS – Tutor LMS Mobile Registration + Login

Add a Mobile Number field to Tutor LMS registration and allow users to log in using Username, Email, or Mobile Number.

Description

ByteSIS – Tutor LMS Mobile Registration + Login is a lightweight add-on for Tutor LMS that:

  • Adds a Mobile Number field to the Tutor LMS registration form.
  • Saves the mobile number to user meta.
  • Validates the mobile number as required and unique.
  • Enables login using Username OR Email OR Mobile Number in the default Tutor LMS login field.
  • Works without editing your theme or Tutor LMS core files.

This plugin is ideal for sites where students prefer using phone numbers instead of usernames/emails.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.8+
  • PHP 7.4+
  • Tutor LMS installed and active

Installation

  1. Download the plugin ZIP (or upload the plugin folder).
  2. Go to WordPress Admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Upload the ZIP and click Install Now.
  4. Click Activate.
  5. Ensure Tutor LMS is installed and active.

Usage

  1. Go to your Tutor LMS registration page (example: /student-registration/).
  2. You will see a new field: Mobile Number.
  3. Register a new account using:
    • First/Last Name
    • Username
    • Email
    • Password
    • Mobile Number
  4. Go to Tutor LMS login (example: /dashboard/ or Tutor login page).
  5. In the “Username or Email Address” field, enter:
    • username OR email OR mobile number
  6. Enter password and login.

Mobile Format Notes

The plugin supports common formats such as:

  • 01XXXXXXXXX
  • +8801XXXXXXXXX
  • International format with + (if enabled in code)

(If your site needs strict validation rules, update the regex in the plugin settings/code.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this plugin add OTP login?

No. This plugin adds mobile as an identifier for standard password login only.

Will it break username/email login?

No. Username/email login continues to work normally.

Where is the mobile number stored?

In WordPress usermeta, under a key like: tutor_mobile_number (or the meta key used in the plugin code).

Does it work with Tutor LMS frontend login/registration?

Yes, it’s designed for Tutor LMS frontend forms/routes.
