Shigezone ShortURL for Woo/WP

Shigezone ShortURL for Woo/WP safely shortens WooCommerce product URLs and normal WordPress post/page URLs by changing slugs.

For WooCommerce products, slugs can be based on the product SKU. If a product SKU is empty, the plugin can optionally fill it with prefix + product ID, such as p12345.

For normal WordPress posts/pages, slugs can be shortened to prefix + post ID, such as p12345.

Key Safety Design

• Existing URLs are not changed just by activating the plugin.
• Automatic shortening is OFF by default.
• Dry Run lets you preview changes before applying them.
• Bulk operations require a manual button click.
• Old URL paths changed by this plugin can be stored and redirected to the current permalink with HTTP 301.
• For advanced redirect management, use a dedicated free plugin such as Redirection.

Installation from GitHub Release ZIP

1. Download shigezone-shorturl-for-woo-wp.zip from the GitHub release page.
2. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
3. Upload the ZIP and activate it.
4. Go to Tools → Shigezone ShortURL.
5. Run Dry Run first.
6. Apply changes only after checking the preview.

Important URL Risk Notice

This plugin changes slugs. Changing slugs changes URLs.

This can affect SEO, bookmarks, social links, external links, printed QR codes, and cached pages. Back up your site before bulk operations.

The built-in redirect function only covers URLs changed by this plugin while redirect tracking is enabled. For advanced redirect management, use a dedicated free plugin such as Redirection and manually register important old-to-new URL pairs if needed.
