🎯 Unified Sync & Import

Version 2.0 uses an intelligent unified operation that handles everything:

• First Run: Imports all listings (acts as full import)
• Subsequent Runs: Detects changes and syncs (smart sync)
• Automatic: Adds new listings, updates changed ones, removes orphaned
• One Button: No need to choose between "Import" or "Sync"

How It Works

1. Fetches all listing IDs from AutoScout24
2. Compares with local database
3. New listings: Fetches and imports
4. Changed listings: Fetches and updates
5. Deleted listings: Auto-removes (moves to trash)
6. Unchanged listings: Skips (no action)

Result: Always up-to-date, no duplicates, no orphans, no manual intervention!

📋 Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or higher
• PHP 7.4 or higher
• Motors - Car Dealer, Classifieds & Listing plugin
• AutoScout24 API credentials

🚀 Installation

1. Upload the as24-motors-sync folder to /wp-content/plugins/
2. Activate the plugin through WordPress admin
3. Go to Motors → AS24 Sync to configure
4. Enter your AutoScout24 API credentials
5. Click "Test Connection" to verify
6. Configure sync settings and start importing

⚙️ Configuration

API Credentials

• Navigate to Motors → AS24 Sync → Settings
• Enter your AutoScout24 username and password
• Click Save Settings
• Use Test Connection to verify credentials

Sync Settings

• Auto Import: Enable scheduled imports
• Import Frequency: Hourly, twice daily, daily, or weekly
• Auto Sync: Enable automatic synchronization
• Sync Frequency: How often to detect changes
• Batch Size: Fixed at 50 for optimal performance

Data Integrity

• Duplicate Cleanup: Automatic detection and removal (enabled by default)
• Orphan Cleanup: Auto-delete removed listings (enabled by default)
• Trash Retention: 30 days before permanent deletion
• Manual Controls: Scan duplicates, check orphans, empty trash

🔄 How It Works

Import Process

1. Fetch listings from AutoScout24 in batches of 50
2. Check for existing listing by AutoScout24 ID
3. Update existing or create new listing
4. Import images and metadata
5. Log all actions

Sync Process

1. Fetch only listing IDs and timestamps from API
2. Compare with local database
3. Identify new, changed, and deleted listings
4. Fetch full data only for new/changed listings
5. Move deleted listings to trash (soft delete)
6. Log all operations

Daily Cleanup (3 AM)

Priority 1: Duplicate Cleanup

• Find all duplicate AutoScout24 IDs
• Keep oldest listing, remove duplicates
• Merge unique data before deletion

Priority 2: Orphan Detection

• Verify local listings against API
• Move orphaned listings to trash

Priority 3: Trash Cleanup

• Permanently delete listings in trash >30 days

🔄 Migration from Old Plugin

1. Install and activate new plugin (keep old one active)
2. Configure API credentials
3. Run test import with small batch
4. Verify listings imported correctly
5. Check duplicate detection works
6. Test orphan detection
7. When satisfied, deactivate old plugin
8. Run full sync with new plugin
