A dead-simple WordPress plugin that adds Google Places address autocomplete to WooCommerce checkout. Calls Google's API directly from the browser - no server-side proxy needed.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.8+
  • WooCommerce 10.3+
  • PHP 7.4+
  • Google Places API key

Installation

  1. Get Google API Key

    • Go to Google Cloud Console
    • Create a project
    • Enable Places API (New)
    • Create an API key
    • Restrict to your domain (recommended)
  2. Install Plugin

    cd wp-content/plugins
    git clone [your-repo] google-address-autocomplete

    Or upload via WordPress admin

  3. Activate

    • Go to Plugins in WordPress admin
    • Activate "Google Address Autocomplete for WooCommerce"

Configuration

Step 1: Enable WooCommerce Address Autocomplete

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features
  2. Check "Address Autocomplete"
  3. Save changes

Step 2: Configure Google Settings

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → General
  2. Scroll to "Google Address Autocomplete" section
  3. Check "Enable Google Autocomplete"
  4. Paste your Google API Key
  5. (Optional) Add country restrictions: US,CA,GB
  6. Save changes
