Requirements

Installation
- Download the plugin folder
- Upload the
bulk-product-image-updaterfolder to/wp-content/plugins/ - Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
- Navigate to Tools > Bulk Image Updater to use the plugin

Usage
1. Prepare Your CSV File
Create a CSV file with two columns (no headers needed):
- Column A: Product URL (full URL to your WooCommerce product)
- Column B: Image URL (full URL to the new featured image)
Example CSV:

https://yoursite.com/product/red-pants,https://example.com/images/red-pants.jpg

2. Upload and Process
- Go to Tools > Bulk Image Updater in your WordPress admin
- Click "Choose File" and select your CSV file
- Choose whether to download images to media library (recommended: checked)
- Click "Process Updates"
- Wait for the process to complete
- Review the results summary and detailed report
3. Review Results
The plugin provides:
- Summary Statistics: Total processed, successful, and failed updates
- Detailed Table: Row-by-row results with status and messages
- Progress Log: Real-time activity log with timestamps
Options
Download Images to Media Library
- Checked (Recommended): Images are downloaded and stored in your WordPress media library
- Unchecked: Uses external image URLs directly (not recommended for production)
CSV Format Details
Valid Product URL Formats:
https://yoursite.com/product/product-slughttps://yoursite.com/shop/product-slug(if using custom base)- Any valid product permalink from your WooCommerce store
Valid Image URL Formats:
https://example.com/image.jpghttps://cdn.example.com/images/product.png- Any publicly accessible image URL (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP)
Important Notes:
- Product URLs must match exactly with your WooCommerce product permalinks
- Image URLs must be publicly accessible
- The plugin identifies products by URL, so ensure URLs are correct
- No headers should be included in the CSV file
Troubleshooting
Products Not Found
- Verify the product URL is correct and matches your site's permalink structure
- Check if the product exists and is published
- Ensure WooCommerce is activated
Image Download Failures
- Verify the image URL is publicly accessible
- Check if the image format is supported (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP)
- Ensure your server has internet access to download external images
- Check file size limits in your hosting configuration
Permission Errors
- Ensure your WordPress upload directory is writable
- Check PHP file upload limits
- Verify user has 'manage_options' capability
Check Log File
The plugin creates a log file at:
/wp-content/uploads/bulk-image-update-log.txt
This log contains detailed information about each operation and can help diagnose issues.
