A lightweight WordPress plugin for managing and displaying promotional banners with page-level targeting and built-in click/view analytics.

Features

  • Custom Post Type — banners are managed as a dedicated CPT with a clean admin UI (views & clicks columns, no quick-edit clutter).
  • Page targeting — assign each banner to specific pages or page templates so it appears only where relevant.
  • Position control — set a display location (e.g. top, sidebar) per banner.
  • Click tracking — each banner click is routed through a redirect handler that increments the click counter before forwarding the visitor to the target URL.
  • View tracking — impressions are recorded via an AJAX call using the browser's sendBeacon API for reliability.
  • Ad-blocker friendly — neutral CSS class naming and plugin slug are used to avoid common ad-blocker filter lists.
  • ACF integration — advanced field configuration via Advanced Custom Fields when available.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0+
  • PHP 7.4+

Installation

  1. Upload the promo-banners folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate the plugin via Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  3. Go to Promo Banners in the admin menu to create your first banner.
