This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/ryansallen98/woo-build-your-own-product/archive/refs/heads/main.zip
No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Woo Build Your Own Product adds a custom WooCommerce product type that allows customers to build their own box (e.g. “Build Your Own Munchy Box”) by selecting quantities of predefined items. It’s perfect for catering boxes, snack boxes, gift boxes, meal kits, and custom bundles.

⚙️ Installation

  1. Upload the plugin to: /wp-content/plugins/woo-build-your-own-product/
  2. Activate the plugin from WordPress Admin → Plugins
  3. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.

🛠 Usage (Admin)

  1. Go to Products → Add New
  2. Choose product type: Build Your Own
  3. Configure:
    • Price (as normal)
    • Max items in the box
    • Available items (components)
  4. Publish the product

🛍 Usage (Customer)

On the product page, customers will see:

  • A table of available items
  • Quantity selectors
  • A live “Remaining items” counter
  • Add to cart button only works when the exact number of items is selected

📦 Cart & Orders

  • Cart and checkout display selected items clearly.

  • Order confirmation shows:

    Contents: Sausage × 3
    Chicken × 2

  • Admin can see box contents in the order view.

You can override frontend templates in your theme:

🧠 Known Limitations

  • Component items are not individual WooCommerce products (currently).
  • Pricing is per product, not per component.
  • Stock is managed at the product level.
