Install

No release zip yet. The repository archive installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow:

Ships its own WordPress updater (Update URI header), so new versions show up under Dashboard → Updates.

Adds a cart-style trash icon under each product image in the WooCommerce Checkout block order summary. Clicking it removes the line item via the Blocks cart data store (POST /wc/store/v1/cart/remove-item) and refreshes totals.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0+
  • WooCommerce with the Checkout block (not classic shortcode checkout)
  • PHP 7.4+

Install

  1. Upload the woo-block-checkout-remove folder to wp-content/plugins/, or install the zip via Plugins → Add New.
  2. Activate Block Checkout Delete Item for WooCommerce.
  3. Visit a page that uses the Checkout block with items in the cart — the trash icon appears under each order-summary thumbnail.

Updates are delivered via the Abundant Designs update server (Update URI in the plugin header).

How it works

  • Registers a Checkout block integration (IntegrationInterface) so assets load only with the Checkout block.
  • Injects a remove button (same trash SVG as the Cart block) under .wc-block-components-order-summary-item__image.
  • Calls wp.data.dispatch( 'wc/store/cart' ).removeItemFromCart( key ).
  • Re-syncs with a debounced MutationObserver and wp.data.subscribe after React remounts.

LiteSpeed Cache / ESI

  • Checkout pages are already nocache (LiteSpeed WooCommerce integration + WooCommerce DONOTCACHEPAGE). This plugin does not use ESI, vary cookies, or cache purges.
  • If Guest Mode / JS Delay prevents the icon from working, exclude the script handle woo-block-checkout-remove from JS Delay / Defer / Combine. The plugin also adds that handle via LiteSpeed filters when LSC is active.
  • With Cache REST API enabled, keep Store API session routes excluded. On Abundant sites, abundant-updates (2.54+) excludes:
    • ^/wp-json/wc/store/v1/cart
    • ^/wp-json/wc/store/v1/checkout
    • ^/wp-json/wc/store/v1/order
    • ^/wp-json/wc/store/v1/batch
      Product/category Store API routes remain cacheable.

Notes

  • Checkout block only — Cart and Mini Cart already have remove controls.
  • Classic shortcode checkout is not supported.
  • No npm build step; assets are plain JS/CSS.
