Install

No release zip yet. The repository archive installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow:

wp plugin install https://github.com/robertstaddon/automatewoo-subscriptions-extras/archive/refs/heads/main.zip

Ships its own WordPress updater (Update URI header), so new versions show up under Dashboard → Updates.

Adds AutomateWoo triggers for customer-initiated subscription Suspend and Cancel from My Account.

AutomateWoo's built-in Subscription Status Changed trigger fires for any Active → On hold change, including failed payments. These triggers use WooCommerce Subscriptions' customer My Account hooks instead, so failed payments, payment retries, and shop-manager status changes do not run the workflow.

Requirements

Triggers

Both appear under Subscriptions when editing an AutomateWoo workflow.

Trigger My Account button Hook
Customer Suspended Subscription Suspend woocommerce_customer_changed_subscription_to_on-hold
Customer Cancelled Subscription Cancel woocommerce_customer_changed_subscription_to_cancelled

Cancel still fires when Subscriptions first moves the subscription to pending-cancel (prepaid time remaining).

Each trigger includes:

  • Subscription products — limit the workflow to specific products
  • Recheck status before run — skip delayed workflows if the status has changed

What this does not do

  • It does not fire for failed renewal payments or failed-payment retries.
  • It does not fire when a shop manager changes the subscription status in wp-admin.
  • It has no settings UI.

Installation

  1. Upload the automatewoo-subscriptions-extras folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install from a zip.
  2. Activate AutomateWoo Subscriptions Extras.
  3. Ensure WooCommerce, WooCommerce Subscriptions, and AutomateWoo are active.
  4. If you previously added the same triggers via Code Snippets, deactivate that snippet so the trigger is not registered twice.

Manual verification

  1. Open a workflow and confirm Customer Suspended Subscription and Customer Cancelled Subscription appear under Subscriptions.
  2. On My Account, click Suspend on an active subscription. Confirm the suspend workflow runs and a failed-payment on-hold does not.
  3. On My Account, click Cancel on an active subscription. Confirm the cancel workflow runs.
