A quieter place to write WordPress posts.

Transmission brings a simple writing desk to OpenStation. Open it from your desktop, write your post, add media, and publish when you're ready. Your work stays in ordinary WordPress posts, available in the regular editor whenever you need it.

Made for writing

  • Room to think. A clean document, formatting when you need it, and a post list that stays out of the way.
  • AI beside your words. A small floating prompt helps you revise a passage or develop an idea. Review every suggestion before accepting it, and undo any change.
  • WordPress underneath. Core formatting, the familiar Media Library, featured images, categories, and tags. No custom post types or tables.
  • At home in OpenStation. A desktop icon, native app window, and colors that follow your OpenStation theme.
  • Your draft stays yours. Autosave and browser recovery help protect your writing. Publishing requires your review.

Get started

  1. Install and activate OpenStation on your WordPress site.
  2. Download transmission-0.5.2.zip from the latest release.
  3. In WordPress, choose Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, upload the ZIP, and activate it.
  4. Open Transmission from the OpenStation desktop.

Use the release ZIP for installation; GitHub's source-code ZIP requires a build. Transmission is an early release. The regular WordPress editor remains available for advanced layouts and publishing options.

Optional AI help

Write with your site's OpenStation AI provider, or connect Codex using your ChatGPT account and the local companion. AI is optional; the editor works without it.

For Codex, download the companion from the release page and follow the setup guide. It runs on your computer and keeps your sign-in credentials out of WordPress. Only the writing requests you send are shared with Codex.
