Support Call Booking

Visitor-facing booking form for time-slotted support calls with a pool of staff members. Provides a dynamic Gutenberg block, admin management of staff pool and availability windows, and transactional confirmation emails.

Description

Support Call Booking lets site visitors book a 30-minute support call with a pool of staff members during configurable office hours. Admins manage the staff pool, per-staff availability, and email templates from a single Settings page.

Key features:

• Dynamic Gutenberg block with static editor placeholder; no REST calls on the editor canvas.
• UTC storage with site-timezone display; DST-aware slot labels (e.g., "1:00 pm ET").
• Database-level conflict prevention (UNIQUE index on staff_id + slot_start).
• MySQL advisory lock for atomic "any available" staff assignment.
• Per-weekday office hours (default Mon-Fri 12:00-15:00); each day individually configurable.
• Slot display capped at 12 per day to prevent runaway DOM growth on wide office-hours windows.
• WCAG 2.1 AA compliant form: keyboard navigation, role="grid" slot grid, aria-live error announcements.
• Noindex meta injected on pages containing the block and on confirmation URLs; Yoast-compatible sitemap exclusion.
• Hook-based extensibility: six documented actions/filters for bookings, notifications, availability, and empty states.

Installation

1. Upload the support-call-booking directory to wp-content/plugins/.
2. Activate the plugin via the Plugins screen.
3. Go to Support Bookings (top-level admin menu) to configure staff pool, office hours, and notification templates.
