Installation

1. Download the plugin files
2. Upload the marquee-text-pro folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
3. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
4. Navigate to 'Marquee Text' in the admin menu to create your first marquee

Usage

Creating a Marquee

1. Go to Marquee Text > Add New in your WordPress admin
2. Enter your marquee text
3. Customize the settings:
   • Speed: Control how fast the text scrolls
   • Direction: Choose scroll direction (left, right, up, down)
   • Background Color: Set the marquee background
   • Text Color: Choose your text color
   • Font Size: Adjust text size in pixels
   • Padding: Set vertical padding
   • Pause on Hover: Enable/disable pause on hover
4. Save your marquee
5. Copy the generated shortcode

Adding to Your Site

Use the shortcode in any post, page, or widget:

[marquee_text id="1"]

Replace 1 with your marquee ID.

With Page Builders

Elementor: Add a shortcode widget and paste your marquee shortcode

Gutenberg: Add a shortcode block and paste your marquee shortcode

Other Builders: Use the shortcode element/widget provided by your page builder

Configuration

Global Settings

Navigate to Marquee Text > Settings to configure default values for:

• Default scrolling speed
• Default direction
• Default colors
• Default font size
• Default padding
• Default pause on hover behavior

These defaults will be applied to new marquees unless overridden.

• WordPress 5.0 or higher
• PHP 7.2 or higher
