Installation

Option 1: GitHub Release ZIP

1. Download the latest release ZIP from GitHub Releases.
2. In WordPress admin, open Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
3. Upload the ZIP and activate Karavi AI Assistant.
4. Open Karavi AI Assistant > Settings.
5. Add your own AI provider API key and model.
6. Configure the chatbot, Knowledge Base sources, triggers, goals, and optional content tools.

Option 2: Manual Install

1. Copy this repository (or the release contents) into wp-content/plugins/KaraviAiAssistant/.
2. Activate Karavi AI Assistant from WordPress admin.
3. Open Karavi AI Assistant > Settings.
4. Add your own AI provider API key and model.

Karavi AI Assistant includes a GitHub release updater for self-hosted installs.

• WordPress checks the latest public GitHub release.

WordPress installs the plugin folder as KaraviAiAssistant/; the gettext text domain remains karavi-ai-assistant.

Development And Build Checks

Install local development tools:

composer install

Run PHP standards checks:

composer lint:php

Apply PHPCS autofixes only after reviewing the expected diff:

composer lint:php:fix

Quick syntax check on the bootstrap file:

php -l KaraviAiAssistant.php

Regenerate gettext and Persian translation artifacts:

python karavi/karavi.scripts.tools/i18n-build.py

Audit missing UI translation keys:

python karavi/karavi.scripts.tools/audit-i18n-missing.py

Or run the bundled verify gate:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File karavi/karavi.scripts.tools/verify-i18n.ps1

Human-readable sources live in assets/; distribution-ready minified assets live in dist/. Design tokens and theme overrides live in assets/css/. When changing generated or minified assets, keep the matching human-readable source beside the distribution file and document any build command needed to reproduce it.

Internationalization

• Text domain: karavi-ai-assistant · domain path: /languages
• Persian (fa_IR) ships with compiled .mo, runtime fallback maps, and guided-tour translations.
• Settings > General exposes separate Admin UI Language and Frontend UI Language controls.
