How It Works

1. Script Injection: Adds the Google conversion tracking script to your site's header
2. Link Enhancement: Automatically adds onclick attributes to all telephone links
3. Conversion Tracking: When visitors click phone numbers, it triggers a conversion event before initiating the call

Installation

1. Upload the easy-call-conversions folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
3. Go to Settings → Call Conversions to configure your Google Ads conversion settings

Configuration

Required Setup

Before using this plugin, ensure you have:

• Google Analytics or Google Ads Global Site Tag (gtag) installed on your site
• Your Google Ads conversion ID from your Google Ads account

Plugin Settings

Navigate to Settings → Call Conversions to configure:

• Conversion ID: Your Google Ads conversion tracking ID (format: AW-XXXXXXXXXX/XXXXXXXXXX)
• Conversion Value: The monetary value to assign to each call conversion
• Currency: The currency code for conversion value (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.)

Usage

Once activated and configured, the plugin works automatically:

1. Existing Links: All existing tel: links in your content will automatically get conversion tracking
2. New Links: Any new telephone links you add will be automatically enhanced
3. Dynamic Content: Links added via JavaScript or other dynamic methods are also tracked

Phone Number Formats Supported

The plugin works with any standard telephone link format:

• tel:1234567890
• tel:+1-234-567-8900
• tel:+1.234.567.8900
• tel:(234) 567-8900

• WordPress 4.0 or higher
• PHP 5.6 or higher

Do I need to modify my existing phone links?

No! The plugin automatically detects and enhances all existing tel: links on your site.

Currently, the plugin uses a single conversion value for all calls. Future versions may include per-number customization.
