Development
Architecture
Dashlytics is built as a modern WordPress plugin around two Svelte 4 SPAs:
- Dashboard Widget (
app/DashboardWidget.svelte) — rendered viawp_dashboard_setup, built toapp/public/build/dashboardwidget.js. - Settings Page (
app/DashlyticsSettings.svelte) — rendered ontoplevel_page_dashlytics, built toapp/public/build/settings.jsandbundle.css.
The PHP backend (dashlytics-matomo.php) uses the singleton pattern, exposes a custom REST namespace dashlytics/v1, proxies Matomo API requests, validates nonces and checks the manage_options capability.
Build
cd app
npm install --legacy-peer-deps
npm run build
cd ..
bash build-plugin.sh
The resulting installable ZIP is written to dist/dashlytics-matomo-analytics-widget-{VERSION}.zip.
Automated Releases
Pushing a Git tag vX.Y.Z triggers .github/workflows/release.yml:
- Runs PHPCS and the Svelte build.
- Executes
build-plugin.shto createdist/dashlytics-matomo-analytics-widget-X.Y.Z.zip. - Creates a GitHub Release and attaches the ZIP automatically.
Example:
git tag -a v0.8.4 -m "Release 0.8.4"
git push origin refs/tags/v0.8.4
No manual ZIP upload is needed.
