Features
- Adds a Duplicate link to every row in Posts and Pages
- Creates a new draft — title, content, excerpt, featured image, and all post meta copied over
- Redirects you straight to the new draft's edit screen
- Original post is never modified
- Per-post nonce verification (CSRF protection)
- Capability check (
edit_posts) before any action - No database tables, no options, no admin menu — under 80 lines of PHP
Installation
- Download or clone this repository
- Copy the
makitweb-duplicatefolder intowp-content/plugins/ - Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins in your WordPress admin
- Activate Makitweb Duplicate
Usage
- Go to Posts or Pages in the WordPress admin
- Hover over any row — you'll see a Duplicate link appear alongside Edit, Quick Edit, and Trash
- Click Duplicate — a new draft is created and you're taken straight to the editor
