This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

Adds a search box to the WooCommerce product categories meta box so you can find categories quickly.

Description

Easy Category Select for WooCommerce adds a search box to the Product Categories meta box on the product edit screen.

Type in the box to filter the category list as you go. When you check a category, the plugin shows that category's place in the tree (for example, "Parent > Child > Grandchild").

This is useful on stores with a large number of product categories, where scrolling the full list is slow.

The plugin only loads on the product edit screen. It does not add settings or store any options.

Installation

  1. Upload the easy-category-select-for-woocommerce folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
  3. Edit a product in the WordPress admin to use the search box in the Product Categories meta box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this plugin work with all versions of WooCommerce?

It requires WooCommerce and uses the standard product categories meta box (product_cat). It should work with current WooCommerce versions that still use that meta box.

Can I customize the appearance of the search box?

The search box uses inline styles. You can override them with CSS in your theme or an admin stylesheet.

Does this plugin save any settings?

No. There is no settings page and nothing is written to the database.
