This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Duplicate WordPress posts and pages from the wp-admin list table with a single click.

Features

  • Duplicate action on:
    • Posts → All Posts
    • Pages → All Pages
  • Creates a new Draft and redirects to the edit screen
  • Copies:
    • Title, content, excerpt
    • Parent / menu order
    • Comment + ping status
    • Password (if set)
    • Taxonomies/terms (categories, tags, custom taxonomies)
    • Post meta (including featured image via _thumbnail_id)
  • Uses WordPress best practices:
    • Capability checks
    • Nonce verification
    • wp_safe_redirect() on completion

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.x+ (recommended: latest)
  • PHP 7.4+ (recommended: 8.x)

Installation

Option A: Install from ZIP

  1. Download this repository as a ZIP.
  2. In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Upload the ZIP and activate Aide :: Duplicate Post.

Option B: Manual install

  1. Copy the plugin folder to:
    • wp-content/plugins/aide-duplicatepost/
  2. Activate the plugin in Plugins → Installed Plugins.

Usage

  1. Go to Posts → All Posts or Pages → All Pages.
  2. Hover a row and click Duplicate.
  3. A new Draft is created and opened in the editor.

What gets duplicated (details)

  • Post fields: post_title, post_content, post_excerpt, post_parent, menu_order, comment_status, ping_status, post_password, post_content_filtered
  • Taxonomies: all taxonomies registered to the post type (terms copied by ID)
  • Meta: all keys except:
    • _edit_lock
    • _edit_last
    • _wp_old_slug

Security notes

  • Only users who can edit that post type can duplicate items.
  • Requests are protected with a WordPress nonce.
