MikroWeather by Mikroplaneta is designed specifically for the tourism industry (hotels, shelters, tourist attractions) where accurate weather information is crucial for guests.

The plugin allows you to create beautiful, responsive weather widgets with a "Hero" layout (ideal for headers) or a compact "Bar" layout. It integrates seamlessly with Open-Meteo (free, no API key required) and OpenWeather (for advanced data).

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/gt-weather-widgets directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' screen in WordPress.
  3. Use the Weather Widgets menu to create your first widget.
  4. (Optional) Go to Settings to configure a global OpenWeather API key if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pay for weather data?

No! By default, the plugin uses Open-Meteo, which is free for non-commercial use (and generous for commercial use) and requires no API key. If you need advanced data, you can switch to OpenWeather (requires their API key).

Can I show weather for multiple locations?

Yes. You can create unlimited widgets, each for a different location. Additionally, the Hero widget map can display multiple markers (e.g., for a chain of hotels).

Is it compatible with page builders?

Yes. The plugin provides a shortcode [weather_widget id="123"] that works in Elementor, Divi, Bricks, Gutenberg, and classic editor.
