Plugin that extends basic google analytics script with events, that can be later used to set up goals in google analytics. While working in small web agency we noticed that most of users that uses google analytics knows almost nothing about google analytics events.

But those are essential if you want to understand more about what happens inside the webpage not only count visits.

As we were asked what works and what does not work in particular website, we had to add our own events, and soon we found out that there is part of events that overlap from project to project. So we created a script that could be added to almost any web project.

So this script adds such events:

• Time triggered events.
• Clicks on social profile links.
• Clicks on contact links (email address, phone numbers)
• Search form tracking
• File downloads
• Cta buttons
• Form field tracking
• Form submissions
• Outgoing links
• Newsletter subscription tracking

All these events helps to set up goals in google analytics and helps customers understand what works, and what has to be changed or improved.

Known issues (that are worth mention)

1. Form submission tracking, there is possible to pass without triggering Form used event. Field change is trigered only after lost focus, to that field. Have to think about better implementation.

0.9.2 - Spitting up the google analytics code.
The plugin was based on google analytics javascript code that i was working on in collaboration with SEO Specialist Mārtiņš Groza (https://lv.linkedin.com/in/martins-groza-a104a690) when we both were employees of Digitalscore (http://www.digitalscore.lv/)
So at starting point the common parts of that script, that can be used in any project, was split into several sections, that could be switched on or off.
