This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/hungbuiwp/z-backup/archive/refs/heads/main.zip
No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Back up, restore and migrate a WordPress site as .zbak, .wpress or .zip archives.

  • .zbak – single stream archive, fastest; can include WordPress core.
  • .wpress – stream format compatible with All-in-One WP Migration (import and export).
  • .zip – standard ZIP with database/database.sql, manifest.json and site files.

Features

  • Chunked streaming: flat memory use for multi-GB sites.
  • Live progress (percentage + current step) for backup and restore.
  • 2 MB chunked uploads – server upload limits do not apply.
  • Restore to another domain/path: serialization-safe URL and path replacement (including JSON-escaped values).
  • Automatic table-prefix conversion.
  • Integrity checks (CRC32 for stream archives, ZIP consistency for .zip).
  • Optional: keep the current admin password and login session after restoring.
  • Backups stored in wp-content/uploads/z-backups, protected from direct access, with unguessable names.
  • WP-CLI: wp zbackup backup|restore|list|verify.
  • English and Vietnamese UI.

Requirements

WordPress 6.2+, PHP 7.4+ (ZipArchive for .zip archives).
