Chatling AI is a lightweight plugin that lets you add the Chatling.ai chat widget to your WordPress site without touching a single line of theme code.

How it works:

Chatling.ai generates a short embed snippet for each chatbot you build. This plugin stores your Chatbot ID in the WordPress options table and injects the official Chatling embed script into your site's footer — exactly as Chatling recommends.

Installation

1. Upload the chatling-ai folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory, or install the plugin through the Plugins → Add New screen in WordPress.
2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.
3. Go to Settings → Chatling AI.
4. Enter your Chatbot ID (found in your Chatling.ai dashboard under your chatbot's embed settings).
5. Check Enable Chatbot and click Save Settings.

The chat widget will now appear on every page of your site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find my Chatbot ID?

Log in to chatling.ai, open your chatbot, go to Settings → Embed on website, and copy the value of chatbotId from the embed snippet.

Can I disable the widget temporarily without uninstalling the plugin?

Yes. Uncheck Enable Chatbot on the settings page and save. The embed script will stop loading immediately, and no trace of Chatling will appear on the front end.

Does this plugin work with caching plugins?

Yes. The Chatbot ID and enabled state are stored in WordPress options. Clear your cache after changing settings so visitors see the updated state.

Does this plugin collect any data?

This plugin does not collect, store, or transmit any data itself. All chat interactions are handled directly by Chatling.ai. Please review the Chatling.ai privacy policy for details on their data practices.
