This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/helsingborg-stad/wpmu-noindex-by-config/archive/refs/heads/main.zip
No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Disables indexing for all sites based on configuration.

By default this plugin does nothing. Providing the const WPMU_NOINDEX with a value of true will enable the noindex behavior.

Usage

Define the constant WPMU_NOINDEX in your wp-config.php file:

define( 'WPMU_NOINDEX', true );

Requirements

  • WordPress with must-use plugins enabled.

Installation

  1. Place wpmu-noindex-by-config.php in the WordPress wp-content/mu-plugins/ directory.

MU plugins load automatically and cannot be activated or deactivated from the WordPress administration interface.

Removing the Plugin

Remove wpmu-noindex-by-config.php from wp-content/mu-plugins/ to stop this behavior.
