Install
This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.
Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:
wp plugin install https://github.com/hawks010/foundation-zero-mass/archive/refs/heads/main.zipUpdates itself. It ships its own updater (Plugin Update Checker), so new versions appear under Dashboard → Updates.
Foundation: Zero Mass is Inkfire's WordPress media optimization plugin for safe background image compression, modern format generation, and accessibility-aware media cleanup.
What it does
- Queues image optimization jobs instead of forcing every upload to process inline
- Compresses JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP uploads with safer write/compare logic
- Generates AVIF and WebP alternatives when the generated files are actually smaller
- Regenerates WordPress attachment metadata after successful rewrites
- Creates optional backup copies for restore workflows
- Generates concise alt text from filenames and parent context
- Adds compression profiles for balanced, performance, brand-quality, and low-bandwidth use cases
- Flags and auto-queues oversized uploads above the configurable Large File Watchdog threshold
- Protects brand assets, logos, QR codes, badges, and configured exclusions from destructive rewrites
- Reports missing alt text, oversized files, missing modern formats, LCP candidates, and builder usage
- Adds LCP preload/fetch-priority hints for likely featured hero images
- Provides WP-CLI commands for reports, queueing, one-off optimization, restore, and queue processing
- Provides a React-powered admin dashboard for settings and queue visibility
