Install
This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.
Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:
wp plugin install https://github.com/gunnjerkens/gj-prefetch/archive/refs/heads/master.zipNo built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.
A WordPress plugin to prefetch/prerender the next subsequent blog post.
Setup
Install as a WordPress plugin && activate.
Usage
The plugin hooks into wp_head just before the closing tag with:
<link rel="prefetch" href="http://example.com/previous-post-to-current-post/">
<link rel="prerender" href="http://example.com/previous-post-to-current-post/">
This will prefetch/prerender the next older post in the posts queue. If the post is last nothing will be output into wp_head.
TODO
- Allow next or previous
- Default output hook after the_content displaying featured image and excerpt
- Admin options to choose additional CPTs this works on (default: 'post')
