Install
Upload it under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, then activate.
Install straight from GitLab with WP-CLI:
wp plugin install https://gitlab.com/TIBHannover/oer/wordpress-oer-feature-button/-/jobs/16147121577/artifacts/raw/zip/oer-feature-button-1.0.1.zipUpdates itself. It ships its own updater (Plugin Update Checker), so new versions appear under Dashboard → Updates.
OER Feature Button
WordPress plugin (version 1.0.1) for a floating “Find OER” button. The button appears after a configurable scroll threshold and hides when the footer comes into view.

Installation
1. Download the plugin ZIP:
- Open the GitLab project
- Open Releases in the left sidebar
- Download the latest ZIP
2. In WordPress: Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
3. Choose the ZIP, install, and activate
4. Recommended: also install OER Feature Search so the button can open your own OER search pages
5. Configure labels, URLs, and scroll behaviour under Tools → OER Button
After this version is installed, later GitLab Releases appear under Plugins and Dashboard → Updates (same UI as wordpress.org plugins). The first install is still a ZIP upload.
Configuration
Tools → OER Button
- Display: enable/disable the floating button; scroll and footer thresholds; optional footer element ID
- Label languages: comma-separated ISO 639-1 codes
