This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/ezqr-ca/ezqr-wordpress/archive/refs/heads/main.zip

No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Add a free QR code generator to your site. Visitors paste a link and download a static QR code without leaving the page.

Description

This plugin embeds EZQR's free QR code generator in any post, page, or template. Your visitors paste a link (or WiFi details, contact card, and more) and download a static QR code as a PNG or SVG — right on your page.

Two ways to add it:

Block: add the "QR Code Generator (EZQR)" block in the editor. Adjust the height and the credit line from the block sidebar, with a live preview.
Shortcode: add [ezqr_qr_generator] anywhere shortcodes work, including classic themes and widgets. Options: [ezqr_qr_generator height="600" attribution="no"].

The static QR codes your visitors create are free. No account is needed to generate or download them.

The embed is served in an iframe, loads lazily, and does not block your page render. No JavaScript is loaded into your page itself.

External Services

This plugin embeds the QR code generator from ezqr.ca inside an iframe.

What it connects to: https://ezqr.ca/embed (the generator UI) is loaded in an iframe when a visitor views a page containing the block or shortcode.
What is sent: the iframe URL includes your site's hostname as a utm_source parameter so EZQR can see which sites the embed is used on. Standard HTTP request data (IP address, user agent) is visible to ezqr.ca when the iframe loads, as with any embedded content.
Provider: EZQR — terms of service, privacy policy.

Do my visitors need an account?

No. Static QR codes can be generated and downloaded with no account.

Are the QR codes really free?

Static QR codes (the kind this generator creates) are free. EZQR also offers paid dynamic QR codes — with editable destinations and scan analytics — which require an account on ezqr.ca.

Do the generated QR codes expire?

No. Static QR codes encode the destination directly and keep working forever.

Can I turn off the "by EZQR" credit line?

Yes — toggle it in the block sidebar, or use attribution="no" in the shortcode. Keeping it on is appreciated and helps keep the generator free.

Can I change the size?

The width is responsive (100% of its container, up to 520px). The height is adjustable in the block sidebar or via the height shortcode attribute.
