This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/devinsays/fallback-languages/archive/refs/heads/master.zip
No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Fallback Locales

Description

If translations are not available for the set language locale, this plugin will attempt to load alternate translation locales in the same language before falling back to English. For example, if the language locale is es_MX (Spanish - Mexico) and no translations are available, WordPress will look for other Spanish translations (such es_ES, etc.) before displaying the default language of the theme or plugin.
