DC gMap is a minimalist plugin designed for developers, business owners, and web designers who need full control over their Google Maps without the bloat of heavy "all-in-one" plugins or the frustrating limitations of "Lite" versions.
Why Choose DC gMap?
- No Unnecessary Bloat: The plugin focuses on one single task – rendering your map correctly and fast.
- Full Style Control: Supports custom JSON styles (e.g., from Snazzy Maps), allowing you to perfectly match the map to your website's design.
- Multiple Locations: Add an unlimited number of markers to a single map configuration.
- Performance Optimized: API scripts only load on pages where the map shortcode is actually used.
Key Features
- Custom Post Type Architecture: Each map is a separate configuration with its own unique ID and settings.
- Custom Map Pins: Upload your own branded marker icon directly from the WordPress Media Library.
- Smart Zoom Logic: The plugin automatically calculates the view (fitBounds) for multiple locations or maintains a fixed zoom for a single point.
- Rich Info Windows: Clicking a marker opens a tooltip with the location name and address (preserving your text formatting).
Transparency & Core Principles
Unlike many plugins on the market, DC gMap is built on honest principles:
- No Geocoding: I deliberately excluded automatic address-to-coordinates conversion. By requiring Lat/Lng coordinates, the plugin avoids extra API costs and ensures 100% marker precision.
- Security: Map management is restricted solely to users with Administrator privileges (manage_options).
- No "PRO" Version: All features are available immediately. No hidden fees, no upsells, and no "upgrade" pop-ups.
