Ultra-lightweight Omnibus Directive compliance for WooCommerce — flat-file price history, zero SQL, no cron jobs, instant performance.

Description

DC Woo Omnibus is a minimalistic, high-performance implementation of the EU Omnibus Directive for WooCommerce.
Instead of adding database tables or running heavy cron jobs, this plugin stores price history in tiny flat files inside the uploads directory.
This guarantees maximum speed, full portability, and total reliability — even on low-budget hosting.

Perfect for developers, agencies, and stores that want Omnibus compliance without slowing down their shop.

Key features:

  • Zero SQL queries (no custom tables, no migrations)
  • 30-day price history stored in flat files
  • Automatic logging of price changes for simple and variable products
  • Lowest price from the last 30 days displayed under the product price
  • Variation-aware calculation (different lowest prices per variant)
  • Secure storage (auto-generated .htaccess + index.php)
  • Works instantly after activation — no configuration required

How it works

When a product or variation price is saved, the plugin writes a timestamped entry into a file: /wp-content/uploads/dc-omnibus-history/price-{PRODUCT_ID}.txt

Each file contains lines in the format: timestamp|price

The plugin automatically:

  • removes entries older than 30 days
  • prevents duplicate entries when the price hasn’t changed
  • reads only recent entries when rendering the lowest price on the frontend

This keeps the storage tiny, fast, and compliant.

Frontend output

For simple products, the lowest price appears under the main price.

For variations, the plugin injects the Omnibus information into the variation price HTML, ensuring correct dynamic display when customers switch variants.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/
  2. Activate the plugin from the WordPress admin panel
  3. Edit any product price — the plugin will automatically create its history file

No settings required. Everything works out of the box.
