Install
This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.
Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:
wp plugin install https://github.com/dangerous37/editorial-revision-gate/archive/refs/heads/main.zipPrevent a revised article from inheriting approval for an older draft. The plugin sends an unapproved publish attempt to pending review. A reviewer approves the current text with WP-CLI. Later edits require another review.
Copy editorial-revision-gate.php into wp-content/plugins and activate it. Save a draft, run wp editorial approve POST_ID --user=REVIEWER, then publish it in the editor. Reviewers must have edit access and the edit_others_posts capability. On a disposable WordPress installation run wp --user=ADMIN eval-file /absolute/path/to/acceptance.php with GATE_PLUGIN_PATH set to the absolute plugin file path if running outside its checkout.
The guard covers standard WordPress post writes. Direct SQL, trusted plugins that bypass the filter, non-text assets and revisions of other post types are outside its scope. The approval metadata is the latest review receipt.
