No release zip yet. The repository archive installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow:

KGR Featured PDF
WordPress Plugin: Set the post featured image from the thumbnail of a PDF file.
A copy of the full-sized PDF thumbnail is set as the post's featured image.
Functionality
1. Navigate to the edit screen of a post or a page.
2. Select Set featured PDF from metabox Featured PDF.
3. Choose or upload a PDF file. Then click Select.
4. Save the post.
Notes
Metabox is not present in block editor.
Only PDFs attached to the current post are listed.
PDF thumbnails must be generated automatically.
