This guide will help you install, set up, and use the Futuristic Portfolio Display WordPress plugin. The plugin allows you to showcase your projects in a modern, futuristic design with features such as:
Custom Portfolio Post Type
Media uploads (thumbnail + full image)
Project features list
WhatsApp contact button
Front-end ratings
Views and likes counter
Full color customization options
Everything is designed to help you display your work beautifully and collect user engagement.
- Installation & Setup 1.1 Installing the Plugin
Save the plugin file Save the provided PHP code into a file named: futuristic-portfolio-display.php
Upload the plugin Upload the file to your server in: wp-content/plugins/
Activate the plugin
Open your WordPress dashboard
Go to Plugins
Find Futuristic Portfolio Display (All Features)
Click Activate
Once activated, the plugin will automatically create a new menu item in your dashboard.
1.2 Accessing Your Portfolio (Custom Post Type)
After activation, you will see a new menu option labeled:
“Add Project”
This is where you will create, edit, and manage all your portfolio entries.
- Creating & Editing Projects
Each portfolio item is added as a Project inside the “Add Project” section.
When adding a new project, you will see the Project Details box, which contains all custom fields used for the futuristic project display.
Below is a simple explanation of what each field does.
2.1 Project Details Fields Field Name Purpose Notes Display Title Main name of the project shown in the portfolio If left blank, WordPress post title is used Problem it Solves Description of what the project does or the challenge it solves Appears clearly inside the popup modal Project Link (Visit Live) URL of the actual project/site Used by the “Visit Live” button Image 1 Thumbnail image shown on the grid card Add via WordPress media library Image 2 Large detailed image shown inside the popup Used for the showcase/preview Features List of project features Add each feature on a new line or separate with commas WhatsApp Number Number with country code Used to generate the “I Want Like This” WhatsApp message 2.2 Automatic Statistics (Ratings, Likes, Views)
The plugin automatically tracks user interaction:
Average Rating – automatically calculated from user ratings
Review Count – total number of ratings received
Views – increases each time a user opens a project
Likes – increases when a user clicks the like button
You can manually change views and likes from the Project Details box if you want to set starting values.
Rating fields cannot be edited, because they update automatically from users.
- Customizing the Design (Color Settings)
The plugin gives you full control over the futuristic color scheme.
3.1 Opening the Display Settings
Go to:
Settings → Futuristic Portfolio

After adjusting the colors, click Save Settings.
- Displaying Your Portfolio on a Page
To show your portfolio anywhere on your website, use the plugin shortcode.
4.1 Shortcode
Place this shortcode inside any page or post:
[futuristic_portfolio]
Once added, the full futuristic grid layout will appear on that page.
