Install
This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.
Install straight from Codeberg with WP-CLI:
wp plugin install https://codeberg.org/mootex/mootex-remove-category-slug/archive/main.zipNo built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.
Removes the "/category/" part from category permalinks.
With this plugin, your category links would look like domain.tld/this-is-my-category-slug/, with the "/category/" our of the permalink. The plugin will not change anything else.

1. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/plugins/mootex-remove-category-slug directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
1. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' screen in WordPress.
1. Regenerate permalinks. Do this by clicking on "Save" in the permalinks settings screen.
