This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

Show your Pointless POS catalog, menus, price schedules, search and cart on your WordPress site with shortcodes and SEO-friendly URLs.

Description

PointlessPOS connects your WordPress site to your Pointless POS account (a hosted point-of-sale service) and displays your live inventory on your site.

Features

This plugin requires a Pointless POS account. Without an API address configured under Settings, the shortcodes show nothing. A public demo API address you can use to try the plugin is listed in the FAQ.

External services

This plugin sends requests to the Pointless POS API at the address you enter in the plugin settings (the "API base URL"). It is operated by Pointless POS (https://pointlesspos.com).

  • What is sent and when: when a visitor views a catalog, category, product, menu or search page, the plugin requests that data (category and product IDs, search terms and filters). When a visitor uses the cart, the plugin sends the cart contents (product IDs, quantities, selected options) and, on the first cart action, asks the service to create an anonymous guest account and returns a cart token that is kept in a cookie in the visitor's browser. Checkout details are entered on your checkout site, not stored by this plugin.

Images. Product images are loaded from the image base URL you configure (normally your Pointless POS image host). Price schedule images are loaded from the same image base URL.

FluentCRM (optional). If the FluentCRM plugin is active and you use the Client Import tool, customer records from your Pointless POS account can be imported into WordPress and FluentCRM. This is initiated by an administrator only.

Privacy

  • A first-party cookie containing an opaque cart token is set when a visitor uses the cart.
  • The Client Import tool (administrators only) stores customer records from your Pointless POS account in a WordPress custom post type (pointless_pos_client). These records may contain names, email addresses and phone numbers. They are deleted when the plugin is deleted.
  • Product, cart and search requests are sent to the Pointless POS API as described above.

METRC is a trademark of its owner. This plugin is not affiliated with or endorsed by METRC; the name is used only to describe purchase-limit data.

Bundled third-party assets

Both are bundled locally; nothing is loaded from a CDN.

Installation

  1. Upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install it from the Plugins screen.
  2. Activate the plugin.
  3. Open the PointlessPOS menu in the admin sidebar and enter your API base URL and image base URL.
  4. Add a page at your chosen root slug and place the shortcodes you need.
  5. Visit Settings > Permalinks and click Save if the product or category URLs return a 404.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Pointless POS account?

Yes. The plugin displays data from the Pointless POS service. For a quick try-out, use the public demo API address: https://liquor.pointlessposdemo3.com/api (enter it as the API base URL in the plugin settings)

Re-save your permalinks (Settings > Permalinks).

Does this plugin require WooCommerce?

No.

Does it work with page caching?

Yes. The cart state is read through REST requests, so cached pages stay cacheable.
