Install

Download source zip No release zip yet

This is the repository archive. It installs, but the folder name will carry the branch suffix and updates will not flow.

Install straight from GitHub with WP-CLI:

wp plugin install https://github.com/cliffseal/hide-unused-shortcodes/archive/refs/heads/master.zip
No built-in updater. New versions won't appear under Dashboard → Updates. Install new releases yourself, or let Git Updater track the repository.

Hide Unused Shortcodes (WordPress Plugin)

Activate this plugin to hide bare, unregistered shortcodes when displaying your content. That's it.

This can be a helpful tool when migrating sites that will no longer be using older shortcodes still present in the content.

This plugin does not remove the shortcodes themselves from the content.

How It Works

Pretty simple: filter the_content at priority 12 or higher—which is after registered shortcodes have been executed—and remove anything that still looks like a shortcode.
